I have been a personal trainer for 5 years and a health mindset coach for 3.
I still train 6 of my original clients from 2019. I focus on supporting my clients in all phases of their journey.
I have gone through my own battles with my body, relationship to food and exercise which has allowed me to support my clients through learn knowledge and personal experience.
I focus on mindset, body image and movement and I do my best to help educate my clients while supporting them on their goals.
I am an embodiment of what I preach as a personal trainer. I would never suggest a client do something that I am not aligned with myself. I will not tell my client they have to get X amount of hours of sleep if I can’t even do that myself.
I’ve always wanted people to want to look after themselves and be that support for themselves, and that’s how I go about my personal training. Yes, I want them to get results, but I also want them to want that healthier lifestyle for themselves as well, and not feel obliged to do it. I do a very good job at creating a safe space, which I know is why I have a very high retention of clients in personal training because I always saw my clients as people and never just purely my income.
Over Covid, I did my certification in health and mindset coaching, looking into behaviour change. This completely changed my coaching style and how I see things around me as well. I love talking about habits, routines, self-sabotage, all-or-nothing thinking, and how you behave and show up in your lifestyle, which also influences my coaching. This is the stuff I love. I realised after a year in PT that I loved changing people's minds more than I loved changing physical bodies.
Watching my clients pick up on their own behaviours and build their self-awareness, understanding themselves more to then give them more power within their lifestyle to be the person they want to be, to see their patterns and to be able to change them and understand themselves more as a whole.
This way of thinking definitely is the foundation of my coaching. I want people to understand their behaviours, understand how they show up within their lifestyle, how they look after themselves, to give themselves evidence that they can look after themselves, and from that place be able to care for themselves on a deeper level. That’s when I bring in the self-worth, the confidence, the self-trust, seeing their own resilience to overall build a stronger level of themselves.
